  Roman Shallows
The site of a Roman Villa found when the lake was built this area is only around 12 to 15 feet deep at top water level. It is always a fish holding spot but can be hard to locate. Take a line between Nunnery Hide and Wick Green Hide and then find a line from Woodford to Herriots Bridge. You won't be far off the centre of the Shallows. Weedy in summer but always full of food. Drifts across the Roman Shallows are possible in all winds but it can be exposed in stronger breezes. Surprisingly no bank fishing is possible from here!
