  Nunnery Point
One of the favourite bank areas of Chew. Easy access and parking makes this point particularly popular. Deep water off the end also allows fishing by most methods and the good evening and morning hatches brings fish close inshore. Farther down into Herons Green Bay is shallower and more suited for wading. Westerly winds often provide slicks just offshore for the bank angler. Try a team of emergers or nymphs cast across the lanes and retrieved as slowly as possible. The end of the Point gives bank anglers depths of 20 feet within casting distance. Slow and deep with gold heads or small lures can be deadly but there are always fish up near the top. Boats drift along or across the Point to good effect. The Point extends out some 200 yards and is often weeded. Fish are always to be found around this feature.
