  The Dam Basin
The deepest part of the lake and often the roughest in strong winds. No bank fishing allowed from the dam but boats may fish as near as they wish. Depth varies near the shores but around 30-35 feet in the centre of the basin. There are a number of helixer pumps providing aeration in this area and no anchoring is allowed from the dam to the line of yellow buoys stretching from the picnic areas to the sailing club. These aerators are good fish holding areas especially in very warm weather. All methods work in the basin from fast sinking lines with lures and boobies to dries and emergers. Often good hatches here in evenings. Boats can go ashore at the corner of the dam and picnic area for teas, ice creams, food etc.
