Very shallow area with few bank places when levels are high. Made famous by Dr Bell of Wrington who designed the first buzzer imitations, the Grenadier and Amber Nymph - all of which still catch well today on Blagdon. Prolific hatches mean good rises and a favourite area for boats. Sheltered from south winds but be careful of increasing westerlies as it can be a long pull home!
